Pillar 4 - Purpose

A gift specifically for you

“As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” -1 Peter 4:10

“For I wish that all men were even as I myself. But each one has his own gift from God, one in this manner and another in that.” - 1 Corinthians 7:7

Do you have a specific gift from God? If your answer is anything other than yes, you might want to think again. God’s word clearly says above that “each one has his own…” Whether at this moment you are aware of what that gift may be, you have surely been given at least one! Once you ask God to make it plain, nothing else is as important as what we do with that gift.

A Pastor friend of mine once said, “The meaning of life is to discover your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.” Isn’t that just what Jesus did? He came, bearing an eternal gift, then He went to the cross to give it to the world. After He rose, He gave many gifts to mankind; teaching is just one.

Each of us has a purpose for being here, this is why the eternal, all-knowing, magnificent Lord of the universe has created and called us to be here and alive this very day! The personal giftings we have are huge indicators of the calling on our life, which are inseparably connected to our ultimate purpose. The word of God says that we each have a gift.

Did you hear that? You have a gift that God wants you to share with the world! If you know it, get out there, be bold, and courageous and use it for the glory of God. If you don’t yet know it, do not be deceived, God wants you to discover it. He created you as written in 1 Peter to minister your gift. How could you do that if you don’t know what it is? You might not know because you haven’t asked Him to reveal it. Be encouraged, God has chosen you to be His Ambassador, and spread His blessings to others! Ask and believe, and you will receive and for the glory of God give your gift to the world! May God bless you today! Amen.
