Psalms Streak: A Daily Devotional in the PsalmsSample

A Rhythm of Stillness
Psalm 46 is probably one of the more famous of the Psalms. It contains that verse “Be still and know that I am God”. It’s the reminder that God is found in the stillness. When your physical environment rages (v. 2-3), when the political environment totters and when our social structures are unstable (v. 6) – God is there and He will be exalted. We will find Him there when we seek Him in stillness. Do you remember when He met Elijah (1 Kings 19:11- 13)? He was there in the whisper. When you are alone in your room, in the stillness of just you as you read your Bible, He is there too.
GO DEEP: Have you created a rhythm of stillness into your daily routine to acknowledge how God is moving in your world? God's exaltation in the nations begins with you. Take a few quiet moments to praise Him.
BE BOLD: Who needs to hear this? Who could you share it with?
