Psalms Streak: A Daily Devotional in the PsalmsSample

Why Run?
What is your go-to when life gets difficult? Do you try to forget about things by retracting to your bedroom and getting lost in a Netflix marathon? Maybe you default to a certain person who may or may not be a good influence. Maybe you have a favourite place to run to when you just want to get away from things.
Let’s have a look at the beginning of today’s Psalm;
“I’ve already run for dear life straight to the arms of God. So why would I run away now
when you say, “Run to the mountains...” (MSG)
We can be very easily influenced sometimes, especially when facing a challenging situation. Maybe you used to run straight to God but today you find yourself a little distanced. Maybe you’ve never considered where or what you run to when things get hard. Remember this: God hasn’t moved. He’s still in His holy temple, still on His throne. He’s in charge, as always. His eyes are on you and He doesn’t miss a thing. God’s business is putting things right and setting us straight. So, why run?
GO DEEP: Where or what do you run to when things get hard? Ask the Lord to help you identify the things which may not be a good influence in your life. Pray that He would be your go-to, your refuge, your "plan A".
BE BOLD: Who needs to hear this? Who could you share it with?
