Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you. You show love to thousands but bring the punishment for the parents’ sins into the laps of their children after them. Consider…

God is mighty—there is nothing too hard for Him. In this prayer, Jeremiah refers to God as the “Almighty,” which means what it sounds like: God has all the might, He is all-powerful. It’s comforting to know that God will never run out of strength and power. It’s even more comforting to know that God’s power works in tandem with His good purposes/intentions. God is powerful and His intentions are good.

Set a timer for 5-10 minutes.

Lead into your listening by finding a comfortable place to sit with your palms open and pray this prayer from St. Francis:

Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace;

Where there is hatred, let me sow love;

Where there is injury, pardon;

Where there is doubt, faith;

Where there is despair, hope;

Where there is darkness, light;

And where there is sadness, joy.

Ask God to speak to you.

When you get distracted, come back to Jesus by reminding yourself that nothing is too hard for Him. There’s nothing too big for Him to handle—He has all the might.
