Married Couples: 16-Day Prayer ChallengeSample

"Love Keeps No Record of Wrong"
By Kiana Hershey
“Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.”—2 Corinthians 13:11 (NIV)
“For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.”—Matthew 6:14 (NIV)
Dear Jesus, soften our hearts. Search us, and reveal the places in our hearts and minds where we hold onto unforgiveness towards each other. Lord, we recognize forgiveness is a choice. We submit to Your will and choose to forgive one another. We ask that You help us resist defensiveness in our hearts, postures, and speech towards one another. Convict us where we are harboring bitterness and unforgiveness. Give us the courage to let go of past hurts and disappointments. We surrender and ask that You bring about full restoration in our marriage! Help us to fight for unity and to be of one mind. Jesus, You are peace. We invite You into our marriage as the ultimate model of peace and forgiveness. May we learn to view disagreement in light of eternity and forgive generously, just as You do. In Your name, we pray. Amen.
