Prayer For Understanding God Is Righteous And Merciful After God revealed His plan to Abraham, Abraham had compassion for the righteous people of Sodom and Gomorrah. He negotiated with God to save the righteous people who lived in those cities. Abraham asked God if he will then sweep away the righteous with the wicked? (Genesis 18:23) Through interceding, Abraham understood more of God. He is a merciful God. God is both kind and fair. He wanted to spare all wicked people and the whole city if just ten righteous people were found in the city. However, His justice is not changed by His mercy. This is the reason He loves us so much and sent His only son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins. When we pray, we will know more of God and God’s heart for the lost. Prayer: Father Lord, you are holy, you are righteous, you are love and you are merciful. Thank you for your love for us and your mercy to us. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
