Advent in Israel: The Places of Israel & the Story of JesusSample

Day 10 - Bethsaida
This tiny village on the shores of the Sea of Galilee is frequently mentioned in the gospels. It is in this town that Jesus feeds the 5,000 with just five loaves and two fish. Here we find Jesus yet again showing us His compassion towards those around Him.
He saw a blind man in the city, led him outside the village, and healed him. Isaiah speaks of the coming Messiah would “provide sight to the blind” and “set free the captives” (Isaiah 35:5-6).
In this small city forgotten by the world Jesus stooped down and showed His compassion. He fed the hungry and healed the sick. Jesus’s heart is for the broken and hungry.
Following Jesus's example, how can we look upon others with compassion?
About this Plan

As we enter the Christmas season, we are all eager to celebrate the birth of Jesus, the point in history where God descended into humanity to bring life to a broken world. Each day leading up to Christmas, we will provide an overview of the biblical significance of a location in Israel, along with a devotional prompt that will connect that location with the life of Jesus in Scripture.
