Love God Greatly - the Greatest Gift GivenSample

Praise for His Faithfulness
Read: Psalm 105
SOAP: Psalm 105:42–43
“Yes, he remembered the sacred promise he made to Abraham his servant. When he led his people out, they rejoiced; his chosen ones shouted with joy.”
The Psalmist of today’s Scripture begins by inviting all people to take ownership of their relationship with and worship of God. We’re to give thanks, call on, make known, sing, make music, tell about, boast, rejoice, seek, and recall.
We then read a recap of the history of the Israelites, from God’s first promise to Abraham to the fulfillment of that promise as the people entered Canaan. In His perfect timing, God kept His word to His people, and through their worship and praise, they could tell the story of His faithfulness.
What is your story of God’s faithfulness? Where has He kept His promises, filled you with hope, delivered you from sin, walked with you through the wilderness, provided what you needed most? Give thanks to God today! Call on His name and make known what He has done in your life to all nations—to your family, neighbors, and community. Sing back to God what He has done in your life, or play music that helps to share your story.
Go ahead and boast about what God has done in your life and give your heart permission to rejoice! The Israelites weren’t perfect, and neither are we. But our God is, and He remains faithful to His children. Don’t allow the shame of past mistakes to keep you from receiving the gift of praising God. What He has done for us, through Jesus, covers it all.
Prayer
God, today we praise You for Your faithfulness. You kept Your promise and sent us a Redeemer so that our stories would not end with the wandering but with our wonderful reunion with You. Help us to tell the story You are writing in our lives so that others might hear and believe in You, too. Amen.
