DAY 7 OF 14

Jesus Wept Too

Jesus wept.  John 11:35

The Bible records that Jesus wept over the death of Lazarus, His best friend. ‘Jesus wept’ was written in John 11:35, the shortest verse in the Bible. To weep means to shed tears.

This proves Jesus feels what we feel. He felt empathetic to Mary and Martha for their loss. Jesus’ weeping here shows His true care and love for Lazarus. He felt broken-hearted too. Jesus felt the sorrow and sadness of his friends, Mary and Martha. His heart was filled with compassion for them.

When we care about someone, we will love them sincerely. When they are hurt, you feel hurt too. This is what Jesus feels about each of us as well. He never takes our pain and tears lightly. When you cry or feel sad, do not feel you are alone or think no one understands you. Remember, Jesus understands. When He says He understands, He really does because He has been through it too. Psalm 51:17 says that God will not despise a broken heart.

Come to Jesus. He understands.

Prayer

Dear Jesus, thank You for loving me so much. Thank You for understanding all my pains and tears. You never despise my sorrow. Amen.
