John 1-3: A 12-Day Reading Plan Sample

An ambassador is a diplomat who represents and advocates for the interest of a nation or an organization. An ambassador for Christ is a citizen of the kingdom of heaven who uses their Spirit-given abilities to advocate for Christ. At first glance, this role may seem intimidating. But before we get stressed, we have to remember that a Christian lives out of the overflow of abiding in Jesus. We aren’t called to be superhuman—we are called to abide in Jesus and trust Him to equip us to do what we can’t accomplish in our own strength. Success in our role is dependent on Jesus, not on our skill.
Being an ambassador is not a call to be unnaturally religious. God takes our striving out of our hands by requiring that we come to Him and abide with Him. Abiding in Jesus, knowing Jesus, loving Jesus, and growing in intimacy with Jesus transforms us in such a way that there is a kindness, life, and joy in us that other people are naturally drawn to and want to be around.
List a few ways you can be an “ambassador for Christ” in your circle of influence.
