Like a KnifeSample

Remember: whether for good or for bad, our words cut to the heart like a knife. Today we’re talking about justice. What is Biblical justice? Biblical justice is upholding God’s standards of good and evil. It’s the recognition that every single human being on earth is made in the image of God, that they’re all precious to God, and they’re cared for by God. It’s seeing those that everyone else has overlooked and speaking up on their behalf.
One simple and small example would be found in schools everywhere: bullying. When someone is different than all the rest, it’s far too often that a bully will vocally (and often times physically) make their presence known in their life and do everything they can to put them down. What do you do when you see something like this?
If you’re a follower of Christ, you’re called to speak up. “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.” (Proverbs 31:8-9)
Now think about this: Bullies, as a general rule, are crying out because of something that is going on in their life. If we’re upholding Biblical justice, we’re going to start digging deeper and getting to know them, their situation, and why they’re acting the way they are.
That’s a basic example of so many forms of injustice all across this world. Brothers and sisters, we are called to use our voice to speak on behalf of Biblical justice in any way, shape, or form. When we speak up for those who can’t speak for themselves, they’ll be cut to the heart, Like a Knife, realizing how much God really cares about them!
