Should I, or shouldn’t I?

What if I don’t? What if I do?

How will it work out? What if it doesn’t work out?

Ack, what do I do?!

If you’ve got a choice to make, some of these thoughts might be tearing around inside your brain, threatening to make your head explode. Who do you ask over for a birthday party, what do you say to the boy you really like, or should you try out for the volleyball team? Whether it seems like a big decision to anyone else, to you it really is a big deal. So what do you do?

First, just ask God for wisdom. Easy, right? But then, believe that he’ll answer. God loves to give out wisdom. God doesn’t reluctantly say, “Well, I’m not sure I’ll give her any of my wisdom.” No, he’s generous! So ask boldly, knowing he’ll answer. Because he wants to!

Then decide. Go ahead, choose. Don’t second guess yourself. Don’t doubt. Don’t wonder, Did I do the right thing? Just do it. When you doubt or are indecisive, you’re like a wave on the sea that’s blown around and doesn’t go anywhere.

Dear God, I haven’t always thought of you as generous. I’m sorry. Please give me wisdom for the choice I need to make. Thank you that you will. Amen.
