Before You Start Your Day: A Leadership Devotional by Vance K. Jackson

DAY 4 OF 5

Before Your First Cup of Coffee.

Before you grab that first cup of coffee or your favorite drink, choose to seek Him. Let Christ start your day. Before you take care of your normal daily obligations choose to seek Him first.

Let Christ establish the blueprint of your day. Let Christ lead and soften your heart. Let His Word wash and reset your heart.

Maybe you’re about to handle a major business matter at work. Choose to seek the Character and Heart of God in the affairs of your business.

Choose to seek Him before you respond. Choose to seek Him before you execute. Choose to seek His Way of doing things.

Choose to seek Christ in all that you say and do. Seek Christ even in how you handle your conduct, both in private and in public.

Seek Him on how to lead, manage, and rule the affairs of your day. Seek Christ on how to rule the affairs of your business.

Like Solomon, seek Him on how to handle matters justly. Seek God on how to lead and serve those who submit to you. Seek God on how to execute justly. Seek God on how to execute with wisdom.

Seek God on how to lead your family. Seek God on how to handle the hearts of those whom you steward. Seek God on how to handle the “Heart Affairs” of those whom God has assigned to you.

Whether you’re a husband, or a wife; a mom or a dad; a board member, a manager or CEO, your position and place of authority is granted to you by God and you are to steward and govern your place of authority well.

Romans 13:1 KJV declares, “Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.”

The New Living Translation expounds upon Romans 13:1 NLT in the following manner, “Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God.“

All authority comes from God. Whether you’re in management, a husband, a parent, a Board member, an executive, mayor, governor, senator, politician or an overseer;—all authority comes from God.

Authority is a gift from God. Seek Him on how to steward your platform. Seek Christ on how to steward your position. Seek Him on how to steward your day well. Steward your season. Steward your time. Steward your moment.
