CounterfeitSample

It is easy to look at the faith and generosity of other people and start to assess our own shortcomings. I can’t sing like them, so why bother singing at all? I don’t have as much money as them— so why be generous? I can’t speak the same way as that person, so why even share about my faith? We are reminded through this verse that we all have something to offer. Generosity isn’t a competition or a comparison, but it is an opportunity to see how God wants to grow your faith through what you have to offer. When you give as you are able, with the right motives, it’s good enough.
Today, listen for how God wants you to be generous with what you have.

About this Plan

We know that anything of value probably has a counterfeit version out there. The same is true for our faith. Maybe copying the behaviors of other believers was a great place to start your faith journey, but how can we move beyond copying Christians to following Jesus? How do we make our faith our own? The difference between a counterfeit faith and an authentic faith is growth and heart change.
