You are empowered in Christ to complete the call God has for your life. Even in the midst of personal doubts and fears, be encouraged today that God will confirm what he has called you to do. God possesses the power to confirm his plan for you in a unique way that will definitely get your attention. Continue to draw close to God and seek his counsel and wisdom and God will draw close to you. For example, Gideon was called by God to save Israel from the hand of Midian, but in Gideon’s hesitation he sought God’s confirmation in prayer for certainty. Gideon sought confirmation from God even after the LORD called him. Gideon sought confirmation when he asked God for a sign that it was GOD that spoke to him, and God performed the sign when fire flared up from the rock and consumed the meat and unleavened bread that Gideon brought as an offering to the LORD. Gideon sought confirmation again from the LORD two times with the sign of the fleece. Additionally God confirmed Gideon’s call when he encouraged him to go to the Midianite camp to hear what they were saying about Gideon in a dream with its interpretation. Now only God has the power to confirm like that!! When God confirmed his plan, Gideon was encouraged and empowered to follow God’s directives in saving Israel. Praise God that even in your doubts regarding a specific task he called you to fulfill, God has the ability and power to uniquely confirm it to you. Just like Gideon, there is nothing wrong with seeking God’s counsel, wisdom, discernment and advice in prayer regarding his plan for your life. I believe Gideon wanted to make absolutely sure that God called him to fulfill the task at hand and that it was God’s voice he heard and not his own. Although Gideon sought God’s confirmation in prayer regarding his call, he still actively pursued what God called him to do. Allow Gideon’s experience to encourage you as you walk empowered in the unique calling God has called you to fulfill for the kingdom of God.
