DAY 37 OF 40

New Creation

What does it mean to be a new creation?

What is the implication of being a new creation?

We need to understand what happens to us when we decide to accept Christ as our Saviour. Jesus died on the cross for our sins and to reunite us with God the Father. When we accept Jesus we instantly become a new creation. We have a new bloodline, every curse and every sin is broken, and we are a new creation.

2 Corinthians 5:17 CSB Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!

The Journey of Discovering our new identity

We need to understand who He is so that we can understand who we are. It’s almost like building a puzzle.  All the pieces are in the box, and I need to look at the picture on the box to connect all the pieces. As we build our relationship with Jesus, we discover who we are as a new creation.

Discovering God through the Bible, prayer, and relationship with other Christians, are ways of discovering who we are as a new creation.

Old things have gone

As humans, we tend to hold on to the past, especially the things people did to us and our wrongdoings. As a new creation, we need to understand that nothing in the past can hold us back from having a full and happy life. If God says the old things are gone then the old things are gone. It cannot be found.  No sin, no generational curse, nothing of the past exists anymore. We have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus.

Do a Bible study on your new Identity in Christ.
