The word “because” is a conjunction. By definition, the word because means, "for the reason that; since." In verse 23 of Daniel 6, we read, "So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no injury whatever was found on him, because he believed in his God.” 

I love when verses have conjunctions because the conjunctions remind us of why. Why was Daniel safe? Because he believed in his God. He had no other gods before him, and Daniel knew his innocence and being in right standing before God. 

We have the same safety Daniel had in the lion's den. The question remains-- will we believe God is our safety in times of trouble? Will we believe God will deliver us out of the den or the pit?

Our view of God will dictate our relationship with God. 

One man's faith and belief in God called King Darius to make a "decree that in every dominion of his kingdom men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel" (Daniel 6:26).

Our times of joy and celebration matter the same as our times of sorrow and sadness. Our faith and belief in God can cause a domino effect for the Kingdom. King Darius never made the decree about Daniel, but about the God of Daniel. People will see God work in you and through you.

Father, thank You for allowing us to be a part of Your plan here on earth. We love to help bring heaven into people and people into heaven. Show us the areas of opportunity where we can be a witness of You to someone else. Help us to slow down long enough to see the goodness around us. We love You. Amen!
