First Priority EPIC Stories Leader Guide

DAY 19 OF 48

LEADER TIPS

Have someone welcome, pray, watch the video, read the verses, lead conversation questions, and pray for your group.

You can also lead a game or ice breaker if you would like.

Today is all about inviting everyone to have conversations about the Good News. So create a safe and welcoming environment for everyone to do that.

As you open the meeting share why your faith is important to you and how it is impacting your life.

Give everyone the opportunity to respond to the Good News through connetion cards and personal conversations. After you collect the connection cards, meet as a leader team to decide how to follow-up with everyone. Remember to update your FP Chapter with the results of the meeting.

Get in smaller groups of 3-5 if you need to.

WELCOME

Welcome to First Priority. Each month we go through a four week strategy called EPIC. This month's topic is the Story of Sharing the Good News. Today is Invite Week where we are having conversations about the Good News.

PRAY

Invite God into the room.

WATCH

Watch the video  together.

READ

Read the Bible verses together.

CONVERSATION QUESTIONS

1. What is a witness?

2. Have you ever been a witness to something?

3. What do you think about the concept that people were witnesses that Jesus died and also was raised to life from the dead?

4. Is that something that is easy or hard for you to believe? Share why.

5. What could you do to explore the claims of the people in the Bible who said that Jesus is alive?

6. Is there anything that is stopping you or holding you back from beginning a relationship with God by trusting in Jesus?

PRAY OUT

Ask if anyone has prayer requests and then pray for the group.

EXTRA

Here's an easy way to remember the Good News story of Jesus through an acronym called S.T.O.R.Y.

Scripture tell us who Jesus is and what He has done. The people who wrote the biographies of Jesus’ life said

that He is the Son of God. We can look to Him to know exactly what God is like. The entire story of the Bible is about Jesus coming to rescue people from their brokenness, because He is the true King.

True identity begins with knowing that God created us.

He created everything and called everything He made, good. God created humans to know Him and represent Him. He created you, knows you, and loves you more than you could ever imagine.

Our lives are broken by sin. The first humans that God

created chose to turn away from Him and broke their relationship with Him. All of us have also failed to love God and other people in the way that we were created to. Because of this, our lives and the world as we know it is broken. We often feel distant and disconnected from God and others. We need someone to reconnect us to God and His purpose for our lives.

Real love is Jesus giving His life for ours. Jesus came

with a message of Good News. He was sent by God to rescue us and restore our relationship with God. Jesus died and was buried, but God raised Him from the dead. There were over five-hundred people who saw Him alive. He is the true King who rescued us by His love.

You are invited into God’s story. The Gospel of Jesus was

written so that you would believe that He is the Son of God, and have eternal life. This new life begins by trusting and following Jesus.
