Scripture

But the time is coming—indeed it’s already here now—when true worshippers will worship in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship Him that way. - John 4:23 (NLT)

I believe that God is calling us to worship Him through our crafts and creativity. I often find creatives have a difficult time connecting their creativity to worship. Worship has everything to do with the posture of your heart and the intent behind what you’re doing. One of our worship pastors at our church told me that worship is simply giving glory to God. So, if you’re praying, writing a song, designing a shirt; however you use your creativity - if it gives glory to God, it’s worship. This week I implore you to be intentional about worshipping through your daily activities or mundane tasks. This scripture also talks about worshipping in truth, so remember to be transparent and honest in your worship. God knows everything you’re going through, He knows the troubles of your heart and understands how you’re feeling, so remember to be honest in putting that before Him. 

Prayer

Lord, I thank You for giving me the opportunity to worship You. Help me to worship You throughout everything I do this week and let it be said that I have worshipped You in spirit, and truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Creative Challenge

This challenge is a little different from the others because I want you to use only 3 days of the week to complete it. Normally you have 1 week to complete the creative challenge, but I want you to use less this week because as a creative I often find that my best work is produced in a short time. I believe the reason for that is when you have less time or feel the pressure to get something done, you do exactly what you feel you should do without second-guessing yourself. I feel like this is the most authentic and truthful (get it? In spirit and in truth?) This week’s challenge is to create a worship song where you worship in spirit and in truth. Feel free to play an instrument alongside it or make a video, get creative and do it authentically. Now get out there and create your week!
