Scripture

Study this book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. - Joshua 1:8 NLT



This scripture is super important to creatives for two different reasons. Firstly, I found it interesting that in the NLT version the Bible is called The Book of Instruction. As creatives, I feel that we can often neglect the Word as our source of instruction when it comes to creating things. It’s so important that we turn to the book of all instructions to instruct us, guide us, and even inspire us when we want to create.

Secondly, I thought it was also interesting that the scripture says “only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do if you meditate on the Word day and night.” It doesn't say only when you meditate on the Word day and night will you succeed in your finances, education, or in your relationships. It says that if you meditate on the Word day and night you will succeed, and only then will you succeed in all that you do. This very simple, yet powerful verse is the cheat sheet to success. If you want to succeed in school, at work, in being creative or starting a business, the cheat code is to meditate on the Word day and night. 

Prayer

LORD, thank You for Your Word that brings life. Thank You for watching over me as a creative. Thank You for inspiring me, and instructing me with Your Word. Let me be successful creatively. Let Your Word never depart from my mouth and my creative process. Help me to remain in Your Word day and night. In Jesus’ name, Amen. 

Creative Challenge

This week’s challenge is based on the Word! This challenge is going to be a photography and graphic design challenge where you will create three different graphics based on three different scriptures that meet the following criteria:

Graphic 1 - Take a picture and edit the graphic completely on your phone.

Graphic 2 - Take a picture with any camera of your choosing & create the graphic on Canva.

Graphic 3 - It’s a freestyle! Take a picture with any camera and edit the graphic on any platform of your choosing. 

They don’t have to include text, but they need to be clearly related to the scriptures you selected. Someone should be able to look at them and be able to identify which scriptures inspired you. As always have fun, and get creative! Now go out there and create your week!
