An amazing thing happened to me when I invited Jesus into my heart and into my world – my eyes were wide open to see Him and all His handiwork in creation. I remember this one time as a young Bible College student, thinking how I had never received a bunch of 12 red roses. The very next day when I walked outside, to my amazement (and sheer delight), I noticed my miniature red rose bush was abloom with 12 buds coming out from one stem! That moment was a gift.
When your heart is connected to the God of heaven and earth, you notice His handiwork everywhere. It’s just like loving a famous artist – you can recognize their masterpieces, their handiwork anywhere! When you see a sunrise, a rainbow, wildflowers, lightning, or the crashing waves in the ocean… you see God.
All of humanity has access to this form of God’s revelation. There are no geographic barriers. God’s glory is displayed by the things around us. His invisible qualities, eternal power, and divine nature are shown to us in how we are made, or by just taking a glimpse at the world in which we live, and the universe surrounding us.
For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities – his eternal power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that humans are without excuse (Romans 1:20).
