The Discovery: Exploring God’s Call On Your Life Sample

The Discovery: Exploring God’s Call On Your Life

DAY 15 OF 35

“The Assignment: What if I’m not popular?” The world teaches people to step on one another to get to the top, telling them that hurting each other is the only way to make themselves look good, but such behavior is inappropriate for followers of Christ. As you discover your assignment, guard against jealousy within the Body. Yes, all ministry assignments are equally important, but some are more visible and/or may elicit more respect and honor from the Body than others. Don’t let this get to you if your assignment doesn’t fall in a more popular or widely understood category. As human beings, we all crave recognition and acceptance. When tempted to seek recognition and acceptance from other sources, remind yourself that you have already received love and acceptance from God in the form of a fulfilling relationship with Jesus, and let that be enough so you don’t become discontent and impair the overall ministry of the Body. Honor bestowed by God is so much greater than honor bestowed by man, and that’s what you are working for! Respond to the following in your journal: What does jealousy do to the Body of Christ? What did you learn through Bible study today? How were you encouraged? How were you challenged?
