Cooking Up Confidence (Week One)Sample

Day Seven - The Lord’s Prayer
Yesterday we looked at Verses 11 & 12 of the Lord's Prayer, today we will read the last verse and finish our study and think about what this prayer teaches us, how we can use it to help us pray, and what we have learned about Hannah’s Prayer.
READ:
‘Hannah’s Prayer’ in any Children’s Bible or 1 Samuel 1:3-19.
Let's look at the Lord’s Prayer again. Find Matthew 6:9-13 in your paper Bible.
Look at Verse 13. It says "And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’
We know that God is our provider and gives us everything we need to live the life He wants us to live - right? But on earth, sin will always try to trap us and tempt us into making decisions that are not good for us and stop us from living this life. These bad choices, things that we decide to do that we know are not good for us, are known as temptation. But God has made a way for us to live in freedom and not be trapped in temptation.
We learned yesterday that God forgives us when we are honest with God and ask Him to forgive us, so we are no longer trapped in our sin, through His forgiveness God gives us a way out of it.
In our story, we see that Hannah was so honest with God when she prayed. We can be that honest with God too.
ASK:
What have you learned about prayer this week?
Can you be honest with God in prayer?
Spend some time praying today, maybe use the Lord’s Prayer to start.
REMEMBER:
Open my eyes to see the wonderful things in your teachings. (Psalm 119:18)
SAY:
I believe that the Bible has the greatest news,
That you gave to help us find our way.
Your word can be shared with anyone, anywhere!
We trust what your word says.
You can use my words to share your message
You are with me everywhere.
In Jesus' name - Amen.
