When you read this passage, you can see that Paul definitely never went to one of our schools and attended a language class. Has he never heard of punctuation?? According to research, the longest sentence Paul ever wrote had 257 words! Crazy hey? Now let’s break up this passage of Paul into a few chewable pieces.

Paul is still talking to the church in Colossae and he is chuffed with them. They have GREAT FAITH. They are not giving in to pressure and this makes Paul say the following:

"I have been praying for you from the day I heard about your faith." Paul is thanking God for their great faith, but he knows how hard it can be to do the right thing all the time, so he is praying for his friends.

He is praying for 4 things – I am going to write it in simple English, not high Paul talk.

1) He prays that they will know God’s will – what God’s plan for them is every day

2) He prays that they will have wisdom – that means to have God’s thoughts in a situation

3) He prays that people will see that they love God because of their kindness and actions

4) He prays that they will remain strong – they will follow God even when it is tough.

Today is ChosenDay. Choose one friend you know that loves Jesus. Use your phone, or ask to borrow your Mom’s phone, and send them a message like this:

“Hey [Name]. I thought of you today. What can I pray for you? Sincerely [your name]”

Prayer: Use your own words and pray one of the 4 things listed above for your chosen friend.
