What an amazing passage this is today. It is telling us a story. It is my story and it is your story, but most of all, it is Jesus’ story for our lives. Picture this: see yourself walking up a steep hill. It is dark and cold. You are tired. Behind you, you are pulling a heavy suitcase, the biggest one you have ever seen. In it are rocks, and on each rock, there is evidence of every single thing you have ever done wrong in your life. Every bad thought, every bad word, every lie, and every naughty thing. You are pulling this suitcase and it is so heavy. You are pulling this suitcase and you are so tired, you want to die.

Then you see Jesus. Look at Him. He is walking out of the grave. His beautiful kind face is looking down at you and He says: “It is done”. Immediately the suitcase is gone. The darkness is gone. Then you think of that worst hidden thing you have done and you want to say, but Jesus… but He stops you right way and say. “Even that, it is done.”

This is exactly what Paul is describing to us. He is telling us, our NEW REALITY, the story of our lives, is that Jesus overcame death on the cross, He is alive. He paid for ALL OUR SINS; therefore, we are GUILT FREE.
