#4 - He’s Alive!

John 16:13-15 - “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.”

Romans 8:9-11 - “But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ he is not His. And if Christ is in you the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”

Scripture is slap full of information concerning the Holy Spirit, from Genesis 1:2 to the end of Revelation, but for today I’m suggesting that we read and think about just one passage found in the gospel of John, chapter 16 verses 13-15.

Jesus says, “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.”

When Jesus becomes our Lord and Savior the Holy Spirit comes into us and begins to live in us, to do all that Jesus promised. He opens the Word to us and makes it come alive in us. He begins to enlighten and inspire us to walk with or in Him and the scripture promises that if we agree with Him and follow His urging guidance that we will be led into all truth and enabled to run in the Light. Its just Who He is. Its just what He does.

He is called the Spirit of God and the Spirit of Jesus in Romans 8:9-11, “But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you.

What do you think? Is what you just read darkness or light? Do we have a “Helper” that is always there for us, Who will do all this and more for us if we will let Him? Share your thoughts.
