How to Navigate a StormSample

How to Navigate a Storm

DAY 1 OF 7

Day 1 Devotional

Life itself has difficulties and difficult days, which we will call storms.  Jesus told us that "the world would have many trials and sorrows", so the fact that we are going through them should not surprise us. And remember, they do not surprise God either, because Jesus also told us  "be encouraged, because I have overcome the world." He promises us that if “we learn from Him we will have peace” (John 16:33).

These days we will explore SEVEN PRINCIPLES in the life of Jesus that helped Him navigate a life that had much pressure and opposition while bearing the weight of our Salvation. Yet He lived His life with a perfect peace of mind and with great victory. Let us be students of Jesus. We will learn from Him and take the following principles to face every storm in our lives and be victorious.

First Principle: KNOW WHO YOU ARE

As we navigate into the storm and face problems and uncertainty, this is one of the most important principles to keep in mind: knowing who you are.

If we are insecure about our identity, we will not be able to face problems adequately. Because not having the certainty of who we are brings insecurity about where we are going and what our purpose is in life.

Jesus knew who He was and He was sure of His identity. He continually affirmed that He is the Son of God, the Bread of Life, and the Way. He had no doubts and walked facing storms with this certainty.

You and I find our identity by knowing where we come from and to whom we belong. If we have believed in Jesus we are children of God, we have a Father in heaven, and He loves us.

This is the first principle: Face each storm with an assurance of who you are and who is at your side.
