Day 26: Love Drives Out Fear
“There is no fear in love; but perfect love drives out fear.” 1 John 4:18
Fear has been used as gasoline to keep racism’s fires raging, for example, fear of integrating schools, fear of interracial relationships, fear of loss of jobs, fear of loss of power. Fear, fear, fear! But perfect love drives out fear. God is Love. He is not an authoritarian waiting to bash us in judgment. He is a loving Father chasing us down for relationship with Him and forming us into one family in Him. This truth revolutionizes and transforms our souls. May we chase after Him and feel His love chase away all fear.
ACTION: Confess all places that fear has taken up residence in your life and ask God to drive it out.
PRAYER:
Lord, You are Love, and You love me. I pray today that Your perfect Love will chase away all fear. Please help me to love my brothers and sisters in Your family as fiercely as You love them and love me. Please keep us all safe, in Jesus's Name, Amen.
