There's Hope For TodaySample

Pete chose to ignore his drinking problem. His boss offered a rehabilitation center, but Pete felt he had it all under control. His best friend brought it up on a weekend fishing trip, but Pete told him he was overreacting. His wife tried to understand him; to defend him; to cover for him. Finally, she reached a breaking point and left him.
Winston Churchill possessed a keen insight into a man’s prideful heart when he wrote, “Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing has happened.” After he lost his wife, Pete lost his job. After he lost his job, he lost his house and car. He followed a predictable downward spiral that led him to a shelter, and finally, to the streets.
But then Pete made a comeback. He went to a Teen Challenge center and committed his life to Christ; but Pete’s wife married another man and his kids call somebody else “Daddy.”
Self-deception is an incredibly destructive indulgence. The truth could have saved Pete’s family and career. The truth could have saved him from unspeakable sorrow. Truth ignored is a date with disaster. “The truth shall make you free.” A lie will make you foolish.
