God's will for us is to seperate from people or things that may cause us to break our faith.

• Why was marrying foreign women an act of disobedience in their exact situation? What did these foreign women cause them to do? (This is not stated in this text, so if you don’t know, this would be a great passage to go online and google to read commentaries on.)
• After learning the context of why they were to separate themselves from their wives, how does one applythis concept in our generation? Does it mean literally that we are to not marry someone that is not our nationality or someone of a different ethnicity?
• This seemed to be like a mini revival as a “great assembly” approached Ezra and confessed their sin.
• What was Ezra doing right before they approached him?
• How can praying for others help them know and submit to God’s will for their life?
• Even though individuals were participating in this sin, what do we learn about who was seen as guilty?
• Have you ever challenged a Christian to repent of something? How might you go about doing that?

Take time to really reflect on our culture and make a list of the top 3-5 things you see are “sins of our nation”. Take time to confess these sins to God. Ask Him to guide you on how to come alongside those who claim to be believers, especially in the church, but who are living against God’s laws. Ask Him to change their hearts to repent. Ask Him for revival in our country. Ask Him your role in having a gracious but truthful conversation with those who are actively living in sin but claim to be followers of Jesus.
