GO2020 | ENGAGE: March Week 2 — CARESample

March 12—We Pursue Joy in the Lord
Read
2 Corinthians 8:1-5; 2 Corinthians 9:7
Reflect
What do we learn about the Macedonian believers? They didn’t use their lack of resources as an excuse to not care. Out of the abundance of their joy in the Lord they became cheerful givers. They counted it a privilege to bless their brothers and sisters despite the scarcity of what they possessed. Knowing Jesus impacted their lives for the sake of God’s kingdom.
Engage
Read today’s Scripture passages. Say or write them out in your own words, considering the following questions:
· What do they say about God?
· What do they say about us?
· Is there a promise to trust?
· Is there a command to obey?
· How will I apply these Scriptures to my life?
· Who will I show that I care by sharing these truths?
Memorize
Now read this week’s memory verse, Romans 12:15. Spend a few minutes working to memorize it.

About this Plan

As Christians we are called to enter into the lives of others—to be with them in their triumphs and trials. This is not a call to fake it, acting like we care when we don’t, but rather to possess an authentic delight or a genuine empathy, whatever the situation calls for.
