Success Secrets From The Bible

DAY 7 OF 7

Change is Possible

The word Hebrew means “One who crosses over”, especially crossing over a body of water, like a river or a sea.

Abraham and his descendants were called Hebrews because they crossed the Euphrates river to settle in the land God showed them.

Figuratively speaking, a Hebrew is someone who is able to transform themselves by overcoming an obstacle, or obstacles. Life poses many obstacles on the way to success and only those who are willing to overcome what they find along the way to success are able to succeed. There is not a single person I know who succeeded without obstacles. If that was the case, all of us would be successful.

Knowing that you are capable of change, that you can engineer change, is a very big requirement for success. Most people do not know that they are capable of engineering change that can bring success to their life. God had to communicate this to Abraham, who is our father.

Being a Hebrew means being capable of change.

As “spiritual” Hebrews, all God’s children are supposed to cross over whatever obstacle stands in their way to God’s destiny. Obstacles are not there to stop us. They are there to reveal our character and God’s power. Those who don’t cross over don’t do so because they lack the ability to cross. They do so because they don’t live out their Hebraic identity.

Human beings are the only one of God’s creation that are able to transform themselves. We may not have chosen the circumstances in which we were born, but to remain in them is our choice. God blessed every human with the potential to change their circumstances.

Like Abraham the Hebrew, to succeed, someone should leave their negative past and pursue a future completely disassociated with their past. They should look at themselves as a completely different person. Who we are today is not all that we are. We are not condemned to stay in the circumstances that we are in right now. God hasn’t locked our destiny into whatever circumstances we are in. If we feel locked up or condemned to be what we are today, it means we have created our own prison. Our prison is not real; it is a figment of our imagination.

Therefore, secret number six is to know that we have power to change our negative circumstances. A human, just like a land, can be bare, overgrown with weeds with nothing much to show for it. Yet it still has potential to be a place where great developments can take place. Beautiful buildings can be built on land that today seems to be just bare and unused.

Prayer

Dear God,

Help me on my way to change my circumstances. Give me a clear vision of my destiny. I pray this in Jesus' name.
