Pray The Examen
You don’t have to wait until December to reflect back. You can make reflection a normal part of your walk with Jesus. Taking time each day to look back and reflect on your day by praying the Examen will help us become more aware of God’s goodness and presence each day.
Today, put together everything you learned this week.
Pray the Examen:
Start off by becoming aware of God’s presence.
Thank God.
Review your day and think through the areas you missed it in, where you did well, and look for the areas you saw God at work.
Give your tomorrow to God.
End with the Lord’s Prayer. (This is the prayer Jesus taught his followers to pray and it’s a prayer that’s been prayed by followers of Jesus for over two thousand years.)

About this Plan

Our lives are busy. Many of us rush through the day and miss seeing God at work because our pace of life drowns Him out. There’s a practice that dates back to the 16th Century called the Prayer of Examen. The Prayer of Examen is a daily practice that helps us look back and reflect on our day, making us more aware of God’s presence in our everyday lives.
