Living With Purpose

DAY 1 OF 7

Your Life has Purpose

Your life has a purpose—it is to glorify God. There are things that happen in your life that you may not like, but you have to know that they are all there for a reason. The reason is to let God use them for your good, so He can mold you into the image of Jesus, His Son. He is the firstborn among many brothers and sisters who have believed in Him. When you believed that Jesus is the Son of God, you too came to be born of God. That is why you are part of His family. That is why you can call Jesus your brother, and God your Father.

Your Father has established a purpose for making you His child. Just like Esther’s life in the Old Testament had a purpose, your life has a purpose as well. Esther had to be very brave and go before her husband the King when she hadn’t been invited to see him—that was a big no-no. God did not intend for Esther to do that alone, so when Esther went to Him while fasting and praying, God was sure to give Esther the answer she was looking for: the courage to speak up for her people and save them from death.

You probably don’t have to save anyone from dying at the hands of an evil ruler, but you might also need the courage to go through what you are going through knowing God has a purpose for it. You don’t have to like it, probably Esther was not thrilled about it either, but she searched for God’s help and guidance. Like God always does, He delivered His people from evil.

Today, ask your Father God to guide you in your life. It does not matter what you’re up against. God is always in control, and yes, He will deliver you from all evil while accomplishing His purpose in your life: making you into the image of His firstborn Son.
