ACCEPT GOD’S GRACE

Maybe you’ve heard this word “grace” before, and it sounds like something good, but you’re not sure exactly what it is or what it means. Here is a definition for you: “Grace is the overflowing favor of God.” It means that regardless of what you’ve done or where you’ve been, you have access to endless grace, God’s favor, no matter what. 

Sometimes grace looks like giving a little more patience and kindness even when we feel like someone doesn’t deserve it. Maybe that random person on the train accidentally bumped into you because they didn’t take off their backpack. Or maybe you just woke up and it’s way too early for your family to already be bothering you. It can get easy to fail to rely on God’s grace every day. 

We can look at these stressful or annoying situations and feel like our grace is OUT; like we hit our limit. 1 Corinthians is reminding us not to let God’s grace sit there unused; it’s free game and it’s unlimited! There are a lot of people in our lives that may get frustrated or lose patience with us sometimes: parents, siblings, friends. Want to know something amazing? God will NEVER run out of grace to give to us for our lives and to give to others.

I encourage us to find a moment in our week where we can make a decision and choose to show grace to a friend, someone in our family, or even a stranger. Practicing grace should be part of our daily lives. Sometimes it’s hard, but the more we use God’s grace, the more grace He gives to us!
