There is no getting around it, getting by it, getting through it, or getting under it. In order to see Jesus and live the victorious Christian life, we are to live by faith.
As a matter of fact, the Bible says that "Without faith it is impossible to please God" (Hebrews 11:6). And James wraps it up and puts a bow on it by saying, 'Show me your faith without works, and I’ll show you my faith by my works." In other words, he is saying, "Do something! Take action!"
If we want to do great exploits, we will do what the woman with the issue of blood did when she took action:
That woman didn’t stay where she was. She didn’t feel sorry for herself, and she didn’t worry about the scorn she could face from the religious people. Instead, she just acted upon what she knew.
When you are on a journey of knowing God, being strong, and doing great and mighty exploits, you will be challenged to stretch a little farther.
The Lord will challenge you, and your journey will challenge you too. You will be challenged to sing a little louder, dance a little longer, and swim a little deeper!
Action requires that repulsive word "W-O-R-K!" It seems like no one likes to use that word anymore; like no one wants to work on, or work at, anything. Nevertheless, seeing the Kingdom of God come into your life and advance, you will have to take action and work! Have faith, absolutely! But, at the end of the day, you have to put some feet to your faith.
The good news is that Jesus didn’t leave us to do these things by ourselves. He said, "I’m going to give you power to tread upon serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy." HE gives you power to do what you have to do! That means that:
Just do it! Step out in faith and do the impossible! And tomorrow, we will talk more about exactly how to step out and act!
