According to Hebrews 4:12, the Bible is “sharper than any two-edged sword.” It is one of the Potter’s most effective and invasive tools, penetrating “even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow.” When He uses it to shape the clay, the clay is forever altered, an intimidating thought if you are the clay.
Only when we remember Who the Potter is and how much He loves us can we learn to welcome the piercing of our hearts with His Truth. Knowing that He has a better plan for our lives and that He can do through us things we can’t do alone, we trust Him and let Him shape us, knowing that the discomfort is worth the result every time.
Does the way you respond to the Truth in God’s Word demonstrate trust in the Potter and/or an eagerness to be used by Him?
