I Have Questions: What Should I Do When I'm Hurting?Sample

HEAR // Have you ever been afraid that nobody sees you or cares about you? This fear can lead to all sorts of dark places. This is why understanding your value in God’s eyes is so important. God values you so much that He knows the number of hairs on your head. This small detail shows us and reminds us that He cares about every part of who we are. If God counts your hair, you can count on Him caring about your difficulties, insecurities, and sad thoughts. Today, when you’re afraid no one cares, remember that God made you and values every little detail about you.
NOTE: If you feel you are in crisis, reach out to a trusted adult, small group leader, coach, teacher, counselor, or call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. It is a free, 24-hour hotline, at 1.800.273.TALK (8255).

About this Plan

We all have a tendency to hide things in our lives. And the more serious something is, the more likely we are to keep it hidden. One of those things for many high schoolers is suicidal thoughts. This week, instead of keeping suicidal thoughts hidden, we’ll discover how bringing them to light by telling someone can be the first step toward healing.
