Love God Greatly - Jonah

DAY 4 OF 28

Admit your sin and move forward

The most difficult thing to do when we’ve made the wrong choice is to acknowledge our mistakes and change our behavior. The good part is that, when we repent, God is faithful to forgive our sins. Every one of them. Jesus paid the price on the cross for the sins of all humanity. Past, present, and future sins.

To confess means, “to say the same as.” When we confess our sin, we are willing to say (and believe) the same thing about our sin that God says about it. Jesus’ story about the religious man and the sinner who prayed before God illustrates this. The Pharisee bragged about how righteous he was, while the sinner said “God be merciful to me a sinner” (Luke 18:10-14). The one who confessed his sin was the one who agreed with God.

There is no sin God can´t forgive. There is no time when God can´t extend mercy. He is gracious and full of mercy. He is a loving God that is waiting for us to confess our sins, forgive us, and help us walk in integrity.

Though sin is ever present in our lives, it doesn´t have to be a hindrance to our relationship with God. Are you willing to confess your sins? Will you let God change your heart and cleanse you? He will if you let Him.

Dear Lord, I can´t thank You enough for Your love, Your grace and Your mercy toward me. Thank You for giving me new opportunities every single day. Thank You for being eager to forgive me. Help me see and confess my sins every day. Amen.
