I Found My Ring

This first verse (Ephesians 3:20-21) is the Bible verse that each and everyone of us should build our lives on. It is such a clear picture of what Jesus has in store for us. How awesome is it that Jesus, the Savior of the universe wants to be in relationship with you and me? More than that, He lets us know that when we ask Him things He is already thinking about ways to do so much more—more than I could even think about—and His power lives in us, is directing us, shaping us, loving us, and leading us to a place that we could never get to on our OWN strength! Isn’t it great to know that we are able to step into God’s presence with authority and ask Him things that are out of this world and know that what He will deliver is way beyond that?

It’s the absolute worst to lose something you care about—your phone, a necklace, a bracelet, or a ring, whatever. You try and trace back every step to remember where you had it last. You check under the pillow and the couch, everywhere! But, how good is that feeling when you finally find it?! Most of the time it’s in a place where you’ve already checked but you just couldn’t see it.  

I think sometimes that is exactly how we treat the things that God has placed in our hearts…

That God Dream.

The Dream to see our classmates in relationship with Jesus.

The Dream to see our neighborhoods turned around.

The Dream to have awesome friendships.

The Dream of who you are becoming.

The Dream to see your devotional life become active and alive.

The Dream to see other family members know Jesus the way that you do.

Sometimes, I believe we hear from God and we know the exact dream He’s put in our hearts. But, often we let the day to day of our lives speak louder than the one thing that God has placed there.

I want to encourage you that the dream is still there and it’s still very much alive! You may not feel it 100% of the time, you may not see the full picture. But, if I know one thing to be true, it’s that God is always working behind the scenes for us, completing His good works for you and for me. 

1.     ASK Jesus

a.     1 John 5:14-15

Let us never be afraid to ask because we think God has forgotten about us because what He desires most is for you to be in tune with Him. Remember, what we think we lost – God never took His eyes off of. Let us pursue Jesus by always asking!

2.     ACT on Prayer

a.     Colossians 4:2

Prayer is the thing that will always get you through any situation. No matter the circumstance, PRAYER should always be the solution. Know that Jesus cares for you, He loves you, and He wants to be in conversation with you. 

3.     ALWAYS Move Forward

We have to be okay with moving forward. This doesn’t mean moving forward and leaving the dream alone. Once you feel like God has placed something in your heart, move forward WITH it.

One time, I lost my favorite ring in my house. I was so upset when I lost it, so upset, in fact, that I couldn’t stop to talk about it. I couldn’t believe that I misplaced something that was so dear to me! It was my favorite ring and it meant so much to me because my best friend and I purchased it together. The reality is, I ended up forgetting about the ring. Instead of moving forward, I moved on. I didn’t dig deep into my couch, I didn’t look in the garbage, I didn’t flip over my room, I didn’t check all my pockets. I should have done all of that. It is the same when it comes to the dreams in our hearts—we should never just MOVE ON, but instead MOVE FORWARD.

Today, I encourage you to take a second to remember that God dream and run with it!
