YOU ARE THE NEW  

Ever had a smartphone that decided to hang on you? When my iPhone acts tough with me, my last resort is to ‘Restore to Factory Settings’. And there’s a small but vital life lesson in here. God’s plan to restore fallen man back to his original purpose was through His son. There are four themes that run across the Bible: Creation, Fall, Redemption and Restoration. Fallen man was redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus and restored to his original state to rule and reign over the world. That’s a unique ‘Restore to Factory Settings’ option! 

In Christ, we are a new creation. We all have a past that the devil uses to pull us away from the purpose that Jesus has for our life. But the truth is that God doesn’t remember the past because it’s under the blood. All that matters are our present choices that lead us into the future. The past has no power over us! It’s a new life altogether. All that is old and dead is replaced with what is new and full of life. Our purposes, feelings, desires, and patterns of thought are fresh and different. We see the world differently.  Isaiah 43:18-19 says, ‘The former things are gone, He is doing a new thing’. 

Today, I want to challenge you to let go of the old and jump into the new life that Jesus has for you! Begin to dream new dreams, new ideas and new desires. In your journal, write or sketch those dreams & ideas! 

And as you do so, may the Lord write the new story that the world will read and be changed. Stand back and be amazed at what God can do through you!
