Goal setting is a journey everyone should take. It starts by deciding what you want to accomplish and is followed by  devising a plan to achieve the result you desire. For business people and entrepreneurs, goal setting is an important part of business planning. For Christians,  it’s giving concrete action steps to otherwise very conceptual resolutions. 

For goal setting to be successful, you need to do more than just decide what you want to do; you also have to work at accomplishing whatever goal you have set for yourself  - which means you have to create a plan so your work gets you where you want to go. This goal setting definition emphasizes that goal setting has two major decisions — choices and changes. 

Let’s begin with Setting your goals:

What do you want to change about you this year?

What do you want to achieve 5-10 years from now?

What legacy do you want to leave? OR What problem do you want to change in the world? 

Set a GOAL that will Motivate you! This means making sure it is important to you, and there is value in achieving them. It is important for you to determine your destination, because this will serve as your direction and reminder of why you are doing what you’re doing.

Visualize your goals. At Project Purpose, we encourage our mentees to write it down. Writing down goals forces you to select something specific and decide what you want. Then create a vision board. This is especially helpful for visual thinkers. Choose images that represents or symbolizes your goals.
