2 Timothy 3
3
CHAPTIR THRIE.
Ill men comin. But haud ye weel tae the truth.
1But oʼ this tak ye tent, that iʼ the last days fearsome times wull come.
2For men wull be lovers oʼ their sels, lovers oʼ siller, boastfuʼ, prood, miscaʼers, undutifuʼ to parents, thankless, unholie.
3Wantin proper affection, twafauld, slanderers, unrestrained, harsh, haters oʼ the just,
4Fause anes, reckless, ram‐stam, lovers oʼ pleasur mair nor lovers oʼ God,
5Mainteenin a shadow oʼ godliness, but castin awa its pooer; frae aʼ thir turn ye awa!
6For frae ʼmang thir are they wha creep intil hooses, and lead awa witless weemen, happit ower wiʼ mony temptations:
7Aye learnin, and never able to come intil the fuʼ knowledge oʼ the truth.
8But in siclike way as #3:8 Aʼ we ken oʼ thir men, gin it be‐na for a wheen dootfuʼ tales aboot them iʼ the books oʼ the auld Jews, is what is here tellʼt. It maks us wae to think that some menʼs names are only keepit mind oʼ for the ill they did!Jannes and Jambres stude up again Moses, sae thir men staun up again the truth: men aʼ corruptit iʼ their mind; and to be rejeckit as regairds the faith.
9But theyʼse gang on nae mair, for their folly sal be seen oʼ aʼ men, as was the ithersʼ.
10But ye did closely paittern eftir my teachin, mainner oʼ life, ettlins, faith, lang‐tholin, dreein,
11Persecutions, sufferins; whatna things happened to me in Antioch, in Iconium, in Lystra; whatna persecutions I dreed; and oot oʼ them aʼ the Lord brocht me!
12But aʼ wha mak choice to leeve godly in Christ Jesus wull be persecutit!
13But ill men and deceivers wull warsle on their way to the warst, deceivin, and bein deceived.
14But div ye bide siccar iʼ the things ye did learn, and war lippened?-?wiʼ, kennin frae whatna teacher ye learned them,
15And that, frae a bairn, ye kent the holie Scripturs, that are able to mak ye wyss to salvation, throwe faith that is in Christ Jesus.
16Aʼ Scriptur is wiʼ the breath oʼ God, and is oʼ profit for teachin, for convincin, for correctin, for trainin in godliness:
17In order that the man oʼ God may be perfete, weel‐fettlʼt for ilka gude wark.
