The greatest among you will be your servant.

Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! You pay a tenth of   mint, dill, and cumin, and yet you have neglected the more important matters of the law #— #justice,   mercy, and faithfulness.   These things should have been done without neglecting the others.

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed   and self-indulgence.

“Jerusalem, Jerusalem,   who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her. How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks   under her wings, but you were not willing!

In the same way, on the outside you seem righteous to people, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.
