Prayer for Vindication
Of David.
1Vindicate me, Lord,
because I have lived with integrity
and have trusted in the Lord without wavering. # 26:1 2Kg 20:3; Ps 7:8
2Test me, Lord, and try me;
examine my heart and mind. # 26:2 Ps 7:9; 17:3; 139:23
3For your faithful love guides me, # 26:3 Lit love is in front of my eyes
and I live by your truth. # 26:3 Ps 40:10; 86:11
4I do not sit with the worthless
or associate with hypocrites.
5I hate a crowd of evildoers,
and I do not sit with the wicked. # 26:4–5 Ps 1:1; Pr 4:14–15
6I wash my hands in innocence # 26:6 Ps 73:13
and go around your altar, Lord, # 26:6 Ps 43:4
7raising my voice in thanksgiving # 26:7 Jnh 2:9
and telling about your wondrous works. # 26:7 Ps 9:1
8 Lord, I love the house where you dwell,
the place where your glory resides. # 26:8 Ps 27:4
9Do not destroy me along with sinners,
or my life along with men of bloodshed # 26:9 Ps 28:3
10in whose hands are evil schemes
and whose right hands are filled with bribes. # 26:10 Ex 23:8; Dt 16:19; Ps 15:5
11But I live with integrity;
redeem me and be gracious to me. # 26:11 Jb 31:6; Ps 7:8
12My foot stands on level ground; # 26:12 Ps 27:11
I will bless the Lord in the assemblies. # 26:12 Ps 35:18; 40:9–10
