let Israel say —
2since my youth they have often attacked me,
but they have not prevailed against me. # 129:1–2 Jr 1:19; 20:11

they made their furrows long. # 129:3 Mc 3:12
4The Lord is righteous;
he has cut the ropes of the wicked. # 129:4 Ps 2:3

be driven back in disgrace. # 129:5 Ps 35:4; 70:3; 71:13

which withers before it grows up # 129:6 Or it can be pulled out,# 129:6 2Kg 19:26; Is 37:27
7and can’t even fill the hands of the reaper
or the arms of the one who binds sheaves. # 129:7 Ps 79:12

“May the Lord’s blessing be on you.
We bless you in the name of the Lord.” # 129:8 Ru 2:4; Ps 118:26
