Join us NEXT Sunday, Jan., 26 as Human Life Services will minister and share testimonies of women who have been helped by this tremendous organization! We will receive a special offering to bless this important ministry. Due to the possible sensitive nature of this service, parents, use your discretion as to whether or not you want your children to remain with you in the service. All are welcome to remain in the R. O. C. K. Room. We will be passing our baby bottles today that are designed to be filled with coins (and dollars) to support Human Life Service! We will collect them on Jan 26, when they will be in our service. We will also receive a love offering for their ministry.

The girls will be ministering on Sun, Mar. 1 during the 10:30 service. Be sure to come to support them and bring someone who needs to hear their testimonies. We will provide a luncheon following the service. A love offering for their ministry will be taken.

Today has been designated as Sanctity of Human Life Sunday. Next Sunday we will welcome Human Life Services.
All life has intrinsic value. What’s that mean? That life is something that has value and meaning apart from any contribution that can be made.
You have value because you exist. Your value is not determined by your talents, abilities, or possessions.
Even in our declaration of Independence, the very beginning has the following: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
Each of us has, from our creator, the right to life! No person can take that away, only God himself. That’s why murder is wrong.

There are two ends of the spectrum that are part of Sanctity of Human Life. The first is abortion, and the second is euthanasia. I won’t have time delve into euthanasia but the same principles apply-it’s God who gives and takes life.
Before we start, I want you to stay until the end, because even though some may have been a victim of these choices, there is no sin that God cannot forgive, cleanse you from and redeem your life from and I will talk about that near the end.
It seems the abortion issue has become a polarizing issue. People on the pro-death side are vitriolic when it comes to their position. They almost become irrational when you try to discuss this issue.
Many pro-lifers have said they felt that this is one area that we might be gaining some ground on. Science, biology and access to the internet is beginning to slowly change minds.

Those two scriptures are pretty definitive that God considers life beginning at conception. So no matter what doctors, professional, good people, church people, psychiatrists, psychologists say, God says it begins at conception, so that argument is settled.
So biblically, we have established that unborn babies are God’s children equally as much as any toddler or adult.
That fact alone, tells us abortion is murder.
Science has progressed so much in the years since Roe v. Wade that no rational thinking human being can deny the facts of personhood.

Abortion is a spiritual battle. When people deny what is plain and visible right in front of their eyes, they have been blinded to the truth.
So what do we do about it? Our job as the church is to be salt and light. Salt is a preservative, we are to preserve righteousness as much and as often as possible.
We are also light and light exposes the evil in the world.

That is why we preach about it and talk about it. That’s why we support Human Life Services. We need to expose the sin and support efforts to get rid of it.
Christians are not supposed to sit on the sidelines and let the enemy win. We are to work under the power and anointing of God to end evil as much as we can.
Lest we think this is an option, and that we won’t reap consequences or that this isn’t a big deal . . .

What happened when Israel & Judah didn’t listen?
So we know that God says no to abortion and that we are to speak out against it.
What happens to someone who has made that choice?
Sometimes in our zeal to stop abortion, we forget that there are two victims, the mom and the child. And sometimes we don’t realize the weight of guilt that accompanies abortion.
As Christians we should understand the difficult situations in a person’s life that causes them to make such a decision. We do not condone the sin, but we offer hope and healing to the women who is still probably suffering with the consequences of that decision.

These guys were happy to expose her to public humiliation, not because she was breaking the law, but to show up Jesus.

Do we want to help that person, or inflict judgment on them?
There is a lot of speculation as to what Jesus was writing, but truth is we don’t know.

None of us are any better than anyone else. A person who had an abortion is no better or worse than one who didn’t. Sin is sin.
We have no right to cast judgment. . . we have not walked in their shoes.

Sometimes the younger Christians are more set on condemning the sinner than the older ones.
The older ones still remember what God saved them from and sometimes younger folks forget how gracious God was to them.
As we grow, hopefully we develop more compassion and mercy. Even as Christians, we realize how good God has been after we’ve been saved.
