The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple. I open my mouth and pant, longing for your commands. Turn to me and have mercy on me, as you always do to those who love your name. Direct my footsteps according to your word; let no sin rule over me. Redeem me from human oppression, that I may obey your precepts. Make your face shine on your servant and teach me your decrees. Streams of tears flow from my eyes, for your law is not obeyed. You are righteous, LORD, and your laws are right. The statutes you have laid down are righteous; they are fully trustworthy. My zeal wears me out, for my enemies ignore your words. Your promises have been thoroughly tested, and your servant loves them. Though I am lowly and despised, I do not forget your precepts. Your righteousness is everlasting and your law is true. Trouble and distress have come upon me, but your commands give me delight. Your statutes are always righteous; give me understanding that I may live.

The teaching of your word gives light, so even the simple can understand. I pant with expectation, longing for your commands. Come and show me your mercy, as you do for all who love your name. Guide my steps by your word, so I will not be overcome by evil. Ransom me from the oppression of evil people; then I can obey your commandments. Look upon me with love; teach me your decrees. Rivers of tears gush from my eyes because people disobey your instructions. O LORD, you are righteous, and your regulations are fair. Your laws are perfect and completely trustworthy. I am overwhelmed with indignation, for my enemies have disregarded your words. Your promises have been thoroughly tested; that is why I love them so much. I am insignificant and despised, but I don’t forget your commandments. Your justice is eternal, and your instructions are perfectly true. As pressure and stress bear down on me, I find joy in your commands. Your laws are always right; help me to understand them so I may live.

The revelation of your words  brings light and gives understanding to the inexperienced.  I open my mouth and pant  because I long for your commands. Turn to me and be gracious to me,  as is your practice toward those who love your name. Make my steps steady through your promise;  don’t let any sin dominate me.  Redeem me from human oppression,  and I will keep your precepts. Make your face shine on your servant,  and teach me your statutes.  My eyes pour out streams of tears  because people do not follow your instruction. You are righteous, LORD,  and your judgments are just. The decrees you issue are righteous and altogether trustworthy.  My anger overwhelms me because my foes forget your words.  Your word is completely pure,  and your servant loves it.  I am insignificant and despised,  but I do not forget your precepts.  Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and your instruction is true.  Trouble and distress have overtaken me, but your commands are my delight.  Your decrees are righteous forever.  Give me understanding, and I will live.

Every word you give me is a miracle word— how could I help but obey? Break open your words, let the light shine out, let ordinary people see the meaning. Mouth open and panting, I wanted your commands more than anything. Turn my way, look kindly on me, as you always do to those who personally love you. Steady my steps with your Word of promise so nothing malign gets the better of me. Rescue me from the grip of bad men and women so I can live life your way. Smile on me, your servant; teach me the right way to live. I cry rivers of tears because nobody’s living by your book! * * * You are right and you do right, GOD; your decisions are right on target. You rightly instruct us in how to live ever faithful to you. My rivals nearly did me in, they persistently ignored your commandments. Your promise has been tested through and through, and I, your servant, love it dearly. I’m too young to be important, but I don’t forget what you tell me. Your righteousness is eternally right, your revelation is the only truth. Even though troubles came down on me hard, your commands always gave me delight. The way you tell me to live is always right; help me understand it so I can live to the fullest. * * *

I opened my mouth and panted [with anticipation], Because I longed for Your commandments. Turn to me and be gracious to me and show me favor, As is Your way to those who love Your name. Establish my footsteps in [the way of] Your word; Do not let any human weakness have power over me [causing me to be separated from You]. Your instructions are a doorway through which light shines. They give insight to the untrained. I open my mouth and pant, because I long for your commands. Turn toward me and extend mercy to me, as you typically do to your loyal followers. Direct my steps by your word! Do not let any sin dominate me! Deliver me from oppressive men, so that I can keep your precepts. Smile on your servant! Teach me your statutes! Tears stream down from my eyes, because people do not keep your law. צ (Tsade) You are just, O LORD, and your judgments are fair. The rules you impose are just, and absolutely reliable. My zeal consumes me, for my enemies forget your instructions. Your word is absolutely pure, and your servant loves it! I am insignificant and despised, yet I do not forget your precepts. Your justice endures, and your law is reliable. Distress and hardship confront me, yet I find delight in your commands. Your rules remain just. Give me insight so that I can live. ק (Qof)
