For who sees anything different in you? What do you have that you did not receive? If then you received it, why do you boast as if you did not receive it? Already you have all you want! Already you have become rich! Without us you have become kings! And would that you did reign, so that we might share the rule with you! For I think that God has exhibited us apostles as last of all, like men sentenced to death, because we have become a spectacle to the world, to angels, and to men. We are fools for Christ’s sake, but you are wise in Christ. We are weak, but you are strong. You are held in honor, but we in disrepute. To the present hour we hunger and thirst, we are poorly dressed and buffeted and homeless, and we labor, working with our own hands. When reviled, we bless; when persecuted, we endure; when slandered, we entreat. We have become, and are still, like the scum of the world, the refuse of all things. I do not write these things to make you ashamed, but to admonish you as my beloved children. For though you have countless guides in Christ, you do not have many fathers. For I became your father in Christ Jesus through the gospel. I urge you, then, be imitators of me.

What would our life look life without Jesus? Where would we be? The truth is, all of us came from the same place, from the bottom of a dark hole. God found us when we were helpless and justified us through our faith in Jesus. It's by His grace that we live this life. When we understand this, it allows us to pursue Jesus' character and be humble.

We are designed by God to pursue God. A.W. Tozer said there is hope for those who hunger to know God: “He is nearer than our own soul, closer than our most secret thoughts.” These readings are the best of the Tozer's classic book Pursuit of God.
How do you know when the rewards outweigh the risks? A life well-lived and pleasing to God is one characterized by both faith—which by its nature requires risk—and wise restraint. In this five-day reading plan, David Ashcraft, pastor of a large and influential church, and Rob Skacel, licensed psychologist and business leader, encourage readers to embrace risk and to live their lives to the fullest potential.
Jealousy is something we all experience—even if we'd rather not. The Bible goes as far as saying that it “makes the bones rot.” So how can we overcome it? In this five-day plan, Alistair Begg teaches us how to turn from jealousy to joy by setting our hearts and minds on something greater than anything the world offers.
