Philippians 4

1 Therefore, my brothers and sisters whom I love and long for deeply, my joy and crown, continue standing firm in the Lord in this manner, dear ones.

Exhortation to Unity

2 I urge Euodia and I urge Syntyche to achieve harmony of mind in the Lord.

3 Yes, I also ask you, my true companion, to assist these women who labored alongside me in spreading the gospel, together with Clement and my other fellow workers, whose names are recorded in the book of life.

Final Exhortations

4 Find joy in the Lord always; again I say, find joy.

5 Let your gracious spirit be evident to all people. The Lord is near.

6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, through prayer and petition accompanied by thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all human understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything possesses excellence, and if anything deserves praise—focus your thoughts on these things.

9 Whatever you have learned and received and heard and observed in me—put these things into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

Contentment in Every Situation

10 I experienced great joy in the Lord that now at last you have renewed your concern for me, though you were indeed concerned but lacked opportunity to demonstrate it.

11 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I find myself.

12 I know what it is to experience deprivation, and I know what it is to live in abundance. In every circumstance and in all situations, I have learned the secret of both being well-fed and going hungry, both having plenty and experiencing scarcity.

13 I have strength for all things through Him who empowers me.

14 Nevertheless, you acted nobly in sharing together with me in my hardship.

15 You Philippians yourselves also know that in the early period of the gospel ministry, when I left Macedonia, no church entered into partnership with me regarding financial support except you alone;

16 for even when I was in Thessalonica, you sent assistance for my needs on multiple occasions.

17 Not that I am seeking the gift itself, but I am seeking the benefit that accumulates to your account.

18 I have received everything in full and have more than enough. I am amply supplied, having received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent—a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice that pleases God.

19 And my God will fully supply every need of yours according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

20 Now to our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.

Final Greetings and Benediction

21 Greet every one of God’s people in Christ Jesus. The brothers and sisters who are with me send you greetings.

22 All of God’s people here send you greetings, especially those who belong to Caesar’s household.

23 May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.
